Provision under the DTEVT
In contrast to Jamaica, there is only one organisational structure for the planning and implmentation of TVET policies in The Gambia (see Figure 5.1). At the top of this structure is the National Council for TVET, and its executive arm, the Directorate of Technical Education and Vocational Traning (this replaced the former DNVTP). The major function of the DTEVT is to co-ordinate and expand post-secondary, public sector TVET in The Gambia including The Gambian Technical Training Institute, the Banjul Skills Centre, and the Rural Vocational Training Centre.
